Organized by the
IYF+10 COMMITTEE

May 13th 2004, 3:00 pm
Conference Room 4, UNHQ
UNITED NATIONS, New York

The IYF+10 Committee is a civil society initiative for the observance of the IYF+10.
The Committee began its work in March 2003 and it is comprised of over twenty individual organizations sharing an interest in the promotion of the family and willing to work together for the celebration of the IYF+10 and beyond, at the United Nations and worldwide.

This loose coalition of organizations has three main goals:

• To strengthen the pro family advocacy groups at the UN by helping to coordinate lobbying efforts in UN meetings; supporting each other in the promotion of family values and, strengthening the pro family international movement.

• To elaborate and implement a program of activities for the civil society celebration of the IYF+10 at UN Headquarters in New York- especially targeting the following dates: The “Launching Event” on December 4th 2003; The International Day of the Family on May 13th 2004; and the GA Plenary Session on the IYF+10 in 2004.

• To coordinate the respective activities of each of the individual organizations during 2004 in their IYF+10 celebration activities. Members of the IYF+10 Committee meet monthly and are informed of the different seminars, congresses and other scheduled events.
