132  Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Norma McCorvey, the former Roe of the infamous Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision that legalized unlimited abortion, isn't the only woman who wants the high court to reverse the case. Joining McCorvey at a press conference this week were women who had abortions and say it was he worst decision of their life.

McCorvey is asking the nation's top court to overturn its decision using a Rule 60 motion allowing for a revisit of a case when circumstances change.

What's new is the knowledge that abortion hurts women physically and emotionally and that argument is augmented by 5,347 pages of affidavits submitted by women who had abortions and say they regret their decisions.

Caron Strong of Brentwood, Tennessee was one post-abortive woman who spoke at the event.

"It's been 14 years since my last abortion and it has been a week and a half since my last nightmare," she said.

Strong said she was upset that no one told her that the four abortions she had would cause her emotional torment and later result in miscarriages of subsequent pregnancies.

Amy Young of Sterling, Virginia, said it took her 17 years to realize that the cause of the anger and bitterness in her life was due to a past abortion.

"I still cry; I still hurt," she said.

Meanwhile, Alveda King, the niece of civil rights activist Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., said the "guilt made me ill" following her abortion.

Other women who spoke said they experienced physical pain, hemorrhaging, nightmares, depression and severe emotional problems.

"The aftermath of abortion is horrendous," said Joyce Zounis, director of women's outreach for Operation Outcry: Silent No More -- a national movement empowering women to speak out about how abortion harmed them.

"I was told it would be over 'real quick' – it lasted 27 years," she explained.

Zounis, who had the first of seven abortions beginning at age 15, shares, "not once in eleven years was I told of the emotional complications an abortion can bring."

"I don't want any more women to be injured by abortion," McCorvey said at a press conference this week announcing an appeal in her case had been filed with the Supreme Court. "I plead with all that I am for the Supreme Court to take Roe v. Wade and reverse it"

"With each child aborted, there is another tragedy: the harm to the mother," McCorvey said. "I've worked in abortion facilities, and I've seen firsthand the horrific nature of abortion and its devastation to women and girls."
